Standout Brands for Natural Organic Products Europe 2023

We bring news from a bumper and buzzing Natural Organic Products Europe show at ExCel London last weekend.Visiting with a slightly reluctant and apprehensive 11-year-old daughter in tow, we got to explore (and nibble) some good, some very good - and some ridiculously healthy new products and innovat

Here is what stood out for us.

Firstly, Our Faves!

There were so many exciting stands and products to sample and see at the show. We can't list them all, but a quick mention for our two absolute faves: firstly, the truly delicious offerings from besaucy.co.uk; the Vegan Black truffle Mayo was absolutely sublime and will from this point on, be added to every dish possible. The second brand we loved for its combination of sheer aesthetic beauty and organic credentials was skarorganics.com - the UK's first & only manufacturer of certified organic candles. There are many candle brands out there, but few are as beautiful as this.

Plant-Based Products

Unsurprisingly, plant-based products continue to be popular among consumers. With more people adopting vegan and vegetarian diets, the demand for plant-based options is only projected to grow further. Europe's plant-based food market is expected to surpass a value of USD $15 billion by growing at a CAGR of 10.2% during 2022-2028. (source: futuremarketinsights.com)

Brands showcased a wide range of plant-based products, including vegan meat substitutes, dairy-free alternatives, and plant-based protein powders.

Supplements and Superfoods

The evolution of supplements, superfoods, and functional foods designed to support various health benefits continues at pace. Prominent themes at this year's show were digestion, immunity, and stress relief. The trend towards 'holistic wellness' has led to an increase in demand for natural products that promote a combination of both physical and mental wellbeing.

Local and Artisanal Products

Finally, there was an exciting and noticeable trend towards locally sourced and artisanal products. Many brands showcased products made from locally sourced ingredients, highlighting the importance of supporting local communities and reducing the carbon footprint of products.11-year-old daughter asked for a special mention for rawsome.com.tr and their delicious choc and chia bars - of which we quaffed way too many samples. All in all, a good day out and (forgive the pun), plenty of food for thought.
